Strategy & Design // AT&T

AT&T is a telecommunications company primarily in the cell phone space and providing a variety of options on phones and plans from business to cost-effective bundles. Every year AT&T does a campaign to raise awareness of their GoPhones and GoPhone plans.

The Problem: We were tasked to come up with the campaign for the 2016 summer tour to push their GoPhones and GoPhone plans. Generally pay-as-you-go phones are associated with cheap and featureless phones so the goal was to get people to understand how much these phones could really do to entice them to buy into these plans.

The Solution: We came up with a campaign where their mobile trailer would be taken to various fairs, sporting events, music festivals, and air shows and consumers would have the chance to go through an entire digital experience that ended with the consumer getting a custom t-shirt related to that event. First the consumers would register on a custom app we designed, answer a couple of questions, be able to take a social photo, and then that phone would be put into a virtual reality headset and where they would play a custom designed AT&T branded VR game. After the experience was over they would take the phone back out of the headset and choose a custom event themed design that would be pressed onto a shirt right in front of them. We felt this allowed consumers to see how much these GoPhones were truly capable of by making them the hero of the experience and giving the consumer something custom and physical to leave with and remember the experience by.
